Lasers are a wonderful technology - too wonderful to be used only in heavy industrial machines. Mr Beam Lasers, a startup team based in Munich, introduces Mr Beam II - a new affordable desktop laser cutter and engraver. You can simply connect your PC, Mac or tablet by WiFi, choose your own design and cut or engrave a wide variety of materials, such as wood, leather, fabric, mirrors, aluminum and many more. The integrated software allows for pictures to be engraved directly onto your material. It's the perfect tool for makers, architects, model builders and artisans.

You can use Mr Beam II by simply placing the item you want to cut or engrave into the working area. A live camera supports the placement of your design onto the raw material and allows a precise positioning for your cutting or engraving. Mr Beam II suppports a spacious working area (500x400mm / 20x1'') for large objects and its powerful laser source cuts up to 4mm (5/32'') plywood. The safety housing and lid ensure Class 1 laser certification, password protected acess control and an integrated fume extractor. Mr Beam II comes with a customized version of the 3D-printer software OctoPrint, adjusted to the specific needs of a laser cutter and engraver, and runs on an integrated Raspberry Pi 3.

You can connect this cutter and engraver to your home/office network per WiFi or ethernet cable and upload either an image or pick a design from an integrated online library. Mr Beam II is currently funded on Kickstarter and has raised already more than €300k. Pledge €1199 or more and get your own desktop laser cutter and engraver.
