Most low-cost 3D printer so far are limitated in terms of speed and reliability due to their flimsy plastic parts. Kodama, a San Francisco-based company, aims to change this with its new all-metal 3D printer TRINUS, currently funded on Kickstarterm and produced by Flextronics. Trinus is made with all premium aluminum and steel parts and as a result is supposed to perform at an professional level, far above its price point. Trinus extrudes PLA, ABS, PC, flex, wood and most other materials available on the market.
Every Trinus purchased through Kickstarter comes with premium Polymaker filament, with the option of purchasing more at a discounted price. With just 11 units, Trinus is designed to be assembled quickly. Because of its stability, Trinus does not require constant recalibration and maintains quality printing up to print speeds of 70 mm/sec, and is capable of running at a maximum speed of 150 mm/sec. With interchangeable heads, you can convert Trinus into a laser engraver within 60 seconds. The laserhead is capable of engraving wood, leather, food, cork, and other soft materials. Use Trinus to make your own coasters, design a leather notebook, or brand your next batch of cookies! Each Trinus Laser Engraver comes with safety glasses of course.
Pledge $299 and you can get a Trinus 3D printer and a 45g pack of premium Polymaker filament for your prints.
